This Privacy Policy explains how the Piano LED Controller Android application (“the App”) handles information. The App is designed to control a Philic Piano LED strip / piano light controller over your local Wi‑Fi connection.
1. Summary
The App does not require an account, does not collect personal information for advertising, and does not send your data to our servers for analytics or marketing. Control commands go from your phone to your piano LED controller on the local network.
2. Information we do not collect
- We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or payment details inside the App.
- We do not use advertising SDKs, analytics trackers, or crash-reporting services that upload your data to third parties.
- We do not sell or rent personal information.
- The App does not use the microphone and does not record audio.
3. Information processed on your device
The App may store the following only on your phone (local preferences), for example:
- Keyboard size / LED strip configuration
- Chosen colors, brightness, backlight, and animation settings
- Split keyboard zone settings (parts, split points, zone colors)
- Theory settings (key, scale/chord choices, note colors, practice options)
- DAW mode preferences (brightness, channel colors, and related options)
- Last selected tab / UI state
This information stays on your device unless you clear the App’s data or uninstall the App.
4. Local network and Wi‑Fi
To control the piano LEDs, the App sends commands over your local Wi‑Fi / local network to the controller (typically while your phone is connected to the controller’s Wi‑Fi access point). These commands may include lighting colors, brightness, animations, split zones, theory lighting, and DAW-related settings.
The App may use Wi‑Fi / network permissions so it can detect network state and help you connect to the controller. This is used only for device control on your local network.
This traffic is intended for your piano LED hardware on the local network and is not sent to Philic Piano cloud servers for storage or profiling.
5. MIDI and DAW features
Some features light LEDs based on MIDI note information (for example from a keyboard connected to the controller, or from DAW / Hairless MIDI bridging on your computer). MIDI and lighting control stay on your local setup. We do not receive, store, or upload your MIDI performances to our servers.
6. Optional links outside the App
If the App or related product materials open external websites (for example philicpiano.com, Instagram, or YouTube) in your browser, those sites have their own privacy policies.
7. Children’s privacy
The App is a product utility for controlling piano LEDs and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Data security
Because the App works primarily on your local network and stores preferences on-device, your exposure depends on how you secure your phone and Wi‑Fi. Keep your phone updated and use the controller Wi‑Fi responsibly.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” above will be revised when changes are posted. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
